Dhul Hijjah and Eid al-Adha Announcement

According to the official announcements in Makkah al-Mukarramah, 1st day of Dhul Hijjah is Friday, October 28, 2011.
- Day of ‘Arafah will be on Saturday, November 5, 2011
– Eid al-Adha will be on Sunday, November 6, 2011, Insha’Allah.
Eid al-Adha prayer times at MCC on Sunday, November 6, 2011 are as follows:
1st prayer: 7:30am: Br. Yusuf Slitine
2nd prayer: 9:00am: Nr. Muhammad Abu Talib
3rd prayer: 10:30am: Br. Altaf Taufique
Men’s prayer: Both floors of the Masjid
Women’s prayer: Main Hall
- Please try to arrive 1/2 hour before above times
- As always $5 parking fee is solicited as donation
- If at all possible come to one of the first two prayers
- Third prayer is always very crowded and parking space is limited.
Parking WILL NOT be available at neighboring churches.
The Prophet (saw), said: “There is no deed that is better before Allah(swt) or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of al-Adha”. Doing good deeds and fasting during these ten days especially on the day of Arafah (Saturday, November 5, 2011) have the greatest of rewards, insha’Allah.
What other deeds can we do during the first ten days?
- Giving more charity
- Say ‘Eid’ Takbeers
- Pray more prayers in the Masjid
- Read more Qur’an
- Increase family kinship
- Perform more voluntary prayers
- Do more Dihkr
- Ask for forgiveness more frequently.
