Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

According to the official announcements in Makkah al-Mukarramah and Fiqh Council of North America, 1st day of Dhul Hijjah is today, Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

- Day of ‘Arafah will be on Thursday, November 26, 2009
- Eid al-Adha will be on Friday, November 27, 2009, Insha’Allah.

Eid al-Adha prayer times at MCC on Friday November 27, 2009 are as follows:

1st prayer: 7:30am
2nd prayer: 9:00am
3rd prayer: 10:30am

Men’s prayer: Both floors of the Masjid

- Please try to arrive 1/2 hour before above times
- As always $5 parking fee is solicited as donation
- If at all possible come to one of the first two prayers
- Third prayer is always very crowded and parking space is limited.

The Prophet (saw), said: “There is no deed that is better before Allah(swt) or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of al-Adha”. Doing good deeds and fasting during these ten days especially on the day of Arafah (Thursday, November 26, 2009) have the greatest of rewards, insha’Allah.

What other deeds can we do during the first ten days?

- Giving more charity
- Say ‘Eid’ Takbeers
- Pray more prayers in the Masjid
- Read more Qur’an
- Increase family kinship
- Perform more voluntary prayers
- Do more Dihkr
- Ask for forgiveness more frequently.

Eid Mubarak!

JazakAllahu Khairan.
