Job Openings in MCC Weekend School Programs

MCC is currently filling open positions for administrative and teaching staff in our Saturday School and Sunday School programs for the upcoming 2017-18 school year. The schools operate from September through May. Our program has gained national acclaim and is open from 10am to 1:45pm on each respective day. Below are further details.

Office Manager

The Office Manager plays an important role in preparing for and maintaining a healthy and productive work environment that sets the stage for providing high quality Islamic educational opportunities to members of the community. He/She works closely with the principal, students, parents and teaching staff when the school is in session. The Office Manager will be required to work 6 hours onsite each day the Saturday and/or Sunday School is in session and approximately four hours during the week off campus to accomplish the work at hand and assist with special projects and events.

The ideal Office Manager will possess the following skills:

  • Experience working on the computer using various word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  • Familiarity with office-related equipment such as copy machines, telephone and electronic devices
  • Experience working with a diverse group of children and adults in an education setting
  • Sound oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced education environment.

Quran Teacher, Saturday and Sunday School Programs

The Quran curriculum is identical on both Saturday and Sunday with classes taught weekly from 10-11:20am on either day. Teacher positions are paid members of our staff. The ideal Quran teacher will have:

  • Certification to teach the Qaaida and advanced tajweed,
  • Experience teaching in an Islamic school or weekend school setting
  • Attention to details and strong commitment to timeliness
  • Ability to plan and attend to administrative responsibilities outside of the classroom
  • Ability to manage the instruction of a classroom of 15-20 students
  • Ability to use school management software for routine administrative record keeping

All Quran teacher candidates must successfully complete an assessment test of their proficiency.

Islamic Studies Teacher, Saturday and Sunday School Programs

The curriculum is identical in both the Saturday and Sunday School with classes taught weekly from 12 Noon-1:30pm on either day. Students and staff are required to attend salaatul dhuhr; students are dismissed at approximately 1:45pm. Teacher positions are paid members of our staff. The ideal Islamic Studies teacher will have:

  • Sound knowledge of Islamic principles, practices, and a strong commitment to timeliness
  • Experience teaching in an Islamic school or weekend school setting
  • Attention to details and strong commitment to timeliness
  • Ability to plan and attend to administrative responsibilities outside of the classroom
  • Ability to manage the instruction of a classroom of 15-20 students
  • Ability to use school management software for routine administrative record keeping and communication
