Food Pantry

At the Muslim Community Center, our Food Pantry is a direct reflection of the values taught in the Qur’an which emphasizes the importance of translating faith into acts of service. Our Food Pantry program is dedicated to addressing the needs of the poor, needy, and refugees, ensuring they receive necessary support. Our commitment through the Food Pantry is not only to feed the hungry but to enrich our community through service and compassion, reflecting our deep-rooted Islamic values.

Overview of Services

  1. Monthly Food Distributions: We distribute food boxes every month, filled with essential dry food items. These provisions are carefully prepared to meet the daily needs of verified families and refugees in our community.
  2. Special Distributions: During the holy month of Ramadan and the two Eids, we provide additional items including Halal meat. These special distributions are designed to support our community during significant Islamic holidays, ensuring that all members can observe these days with dignity.
  3. Eligibility: Our services are available to both local residents and refugees who have been verified as being in need. This ensures that our assistance is targeted and effective, reaching those who need it most.

Donation Opportunities

  • Sadaqa: We welcome donations in any amount, which are vital in funding the ongoing operations of the Food Pantry.
  • In-kind Donations: Contributions of food and household items are crucial. These donations are sorted and included in our monthly food boxes.
  • Zakat ul-Fitr: A mandatory charity given before the Eid ul-Fitr prayer, set at $10 for each family member. This contribution is crucial in supporting the logistical aspects of our food distributions.
