According to the Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) first day of fasting will begin March 1, 2025 with the first Iftar dinner served at MCC after Maghrib the same day.
We will be providing daily Iftar dinner except the last night of Ramadan. Participate in the reward of feeding others by sponsoring an iftar!

Panhandling

If approached by individuals asking for donations outside the masjid, kindly direct them to the main office where they can complete a zakat assistance application.

Taraweeh

Isha prayer will be held at 8:00 PM and Taraweeh prayers will follow immediately.

Zakat al-Fitr

We will begin collecting Zakat al-Fitr on the first night of Ramadan. The amount is $15 per person in your household. Donations can be made in cash via designated orange boxes (please only place in boxes labeled Zakat Al Fitr - not Zakat) or online HERE.

The application for zakat al-fitr can be accessed HERE. Sign up dates will be Friday’s after Jummah. For those who select in-person, distribution dates will be 22/23 and the 29/30.

Zakat al-Mal

Alhamdulillah, MCC has been at the forefront of supporting those in need within our community. In 2024, we distributed a record amount of zakat, helping many refugees avoid eviction. Our zakat fund is nearly depleted due to high demand. Please donate your zakat generously during this month of Ramadan.

Child Care

MCC will be offering a dedicated childcare program on Fridays, Saturdays, and the odd night of the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Childcare will begin right before Isha and continue until the completion of the first 8 rakahs of Taraweeh. This program is for children aged 4-9.

Parking

We expect a large turnout each night during Ramadan. We highly encourage carpooling when coming to MCC during Ramadan.

Imam Muhammad's Message

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

Dear beloved members of our community,

I pray this message finds you in the best of health and Iman. May Allah grant us all the opportunity to reach the blessed month of Ramadan and allow us to fully benefit from its countless blessings.

Ramadan is a time of purification of the soul, mind, and body. It is much more than abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until dusk. It is a month of self-discipline, spiritual reflection, and drawing closer to Allah (SWT).

We are encouraged to seek forgiveness, mend broken relationships, strengthen family ties, and rid ourselves of harmful habits. The Arabic word for fasting, sawm, means "to refrain", not just from food and drink, but from all forms of wrong doing, including negative thoughts, speech, and actions.

Every part of the body must observe the fast; the tongue should avoid lies, backbiting, and harmful speech; the eyes should turn away from what is unlawful; the hands should not engage in dishonesty or harm; the ears should not listen to idle talk or obscenities; and the feet should not take us to places of sin.

Ramadan is a month of the Quran, a time to increase our recitation, understanding, and reflection upon its guidance. As we fast and pray during this sacred month, let’s internalize the profound lessons it offers. Patience, discipline, gratitude, avoiding wastefulness, and effective time management are essential virtues that should shape our character beyond Ramadan.

True success lies in carrying the spirit of Ramadan throughout the entire year. May Allah (SWT) grant us sincerity in our worship, strengthen our faith, and allow this Ramadan to be a means of lasting transformation.

May the peace and blessings of Almighty Allah be upon you all.

Imam Mohammed Abdullahi

May Allah (SWT) grant you and your family a blessed Ramadan. We look forward to welcoming you at MCC.

Ramadan Mubarak!
